The shell of the Plastic Side Chair is connected to the metal frame using shock mounts, resulting in a comfortable seat even over long periods. The chair is a good choice for a wide variety of settings, both indoors and outdoors.

Charles and Ray Eames had the idea of combining a comfortable seat with different bases in order to achieve the widest use for the chair. The plastic armchair model can even be combined with this maple base to become a rocking chair.
