| La Chaise is a design created by Charles & Ray Eames for the "International Competition for Low-Cost Furniture Design". It was inspired by Floating Figure, a sculpture by Gaston Lachaise, and is also a pun on the sculptor's name. Its sensuous and organic shape, an echo of a voluptuous human form in repose, has endured as a design classic. | |||||
