This classic design of wire base has become known as the Eiffel base.

The chairs in the Wire Chair Group, designed in 1950, can be used in all kinds of situations - at home, in cafes, restaurants, waiting areas and in conference and training rooms.

In 1950 with their innovative use of steel wire, Charles and Ray Eames created an original and groundbreaking design, which became known as the Wire Chair. The use of wire makes the chair light and transparent, producing the impression of a three-dimensional metallic drawing.

The seat and base of the Wire Chair are chrome plated. Bright slim line fabric or leather cushions add even more comfort to these chairs and create the distinctive shape that has led to them being affectionately called Bikini Chairs.
