Sales within the EU
Scott Howard sells genuine and reproduction furniture worldwide from our offices in London, Moscow, Dubai, South Africa and Hong Kong.
In January 2015 over forty furniture companies selling into the EU experienced legal problems when shipping reproductions into Europe.
Scott Howard was not one of those companies because our policy is that we do not supply any "reproduction" furniture to customers inside the EU, unless they can give us a UK delivery address, or if they make their own arrangements for collection from one of our UK stores.
We only accept payment in Pounds Sterling (not Euros) and UK VAT tax is payable on all purchases, in accordance with UK law.
Once any items are delivered to a UK delivery address, or collected from a UK store, the legal title for the products passes to the customer.
Customers within the EU can then ship their purchases home, although they should check their local laws, as they may need to have owned the products for a period of time before being able to transport them.
Here in the UK we can sell these items to you completely legally, yet you may not be able to buy them in your own country. The versions you can buy in your country may cost you up to 600% more than we charge for equivalent products here in the UK.
Sales of our original designs are not affected and we can still ship them to any European delivery address. To identify these items, look for the tick next to the European flag.
